Chapter #7

Filling the void in his stomach

    by: Sage Author IconMail Icon
Eric watches in horror as the mouth of his boyfriend's kid brother draws ever closer, and then with a sickening wretch he feels the glass tip, and watches as a torrent of liquid enters that dark portal, disappearing into the darkness within. Eric, with nothing fueling him but panic, and already far beyond rational thought, begins to swim against the current which threatens to take him into that slick cavern, and the pit of acid within.

Sam at that moment, spots his brother, and with a speed that most drinks would applaud, he downs the whole mug with only three chugs. He is perplexed by a small piece that seems out of place, like a tickle traveling down his throat. He dismisses the feeling a moment later as he dodges through the crowd, hoping he can get out without being seen. Obviously he can't make it, as the crowd literally parted as his brother strode through it right to him.

"Do you know how much trouble you can get yourself, and Joe into by coming in here and getting a drink?" demands Tom of his eighteen year old brother. Sam decides very quickly that not speaking is the best option, and so just hangs his head, hoping his brother will avoid a public scene for right now. His instincts prove correct as Tom looks around for a moment before grabbing his brother by the scruff of his neck and hauling him off.

A few minutes later a still fuming Tom and a Sam who seems to be trying to curl up in on himself enter a local McDonald's. With a glance at his brother Tom orders two burgers and then the two set off towards the back of the practically empty fast food restaurant. Siting in the shadows Tom begins to berate his brother about how irresponsible he is, and how he should at least try and fly right, for Mom's sake if nothing else.

Having heard it all before Sam blocks it out. He has other problems besides being an under aged drinker. Obviously there was something bad in that beer, and he had half a mind to go back and tell joe so, but with Tom next to him he realized he couldn't It came again, a light tickling on the inside of his stomach, like an ulcer or something. Looking down at his burger he decided to drown his stomach pain with food, and so unwrapped it and took a huge bite.

Inside his stomach Eric feels his strength beginning to wane. He'd been shouting like a mad man for Tom, Sam, anyone to get him out of this. With every breath he felt his lungs were burning, but luckily he had fallen into a mostly dry stomach, and was no pressed against a wall, trying to avoid the sloshing sounds which marked the acid, while at the same time pounding on Sam's stomach lining for all he was worth.

It didn't seem to be having much effect beyond making his hands burn as the acid seeped from the walls, but he kept at it. He was a scientist, a respected one. He couldn't die like this, as a bit of meat inside a teenagers stomach. Suddenly the sounds outside change, and then Eric hear's what might be some heavy machinery in the distance as it ground gravel into nothing.

Then with a gulp the sound stopped, and just before the chewed up burger entered the stomach Eric realized that he'd been hearing Sam eating, not machinery. With a splash the masticated goo lands in the stomach, followed by still more. Eric can't stand it, and starts to redouble his attack on Sam's stomach, though he can hear the sloshing acid getting higher, and he feels the walls are beginning to move and churn.

Outside Tom is looking at Sam with a grave expression on his face. Tom knew his brother had been blocking him out, but as a good brother he felt it was his duty to at least try and instruct the boy. If only he could be a little more like Eric, or have a little piece of him inside him. That would set Sam straight(Well you know what I mean).

"Have you been listening to me at all?" Tom demands of his little brother, who shoves the last of his burger into his mouth and swallows it whole. Looking at him with a serious face Sam stares deep into his brother's eyes and leans closer. When his face is only an inch away he let's out a terrific belch. As Tom pulls back holding his nose Sam points at him laughing.

"Not really bro, but listen to me, we have got to come back here more often. They obviously improved the meat," comments Sam as he gets up to get another burger while patting his stomach. That little tickle had gone away, but for some reason he felt empty inside without it, like it had been something important. Brushing off the feeling he decides to fill this new void in him with several burgers, thinking they probably equal about the same.
