"Great," Eric thought. He needed to depend on his irresponsible younger brother for help.
They were about as unalike as two brothers could be. Zac was lazy and utterly lacking in responsibility. He wasn't unintelligent, he had simply never applied himself.
Zac had a scruffy beard and long, dark hair. He had a sort of scoundrel's charm that worked on almost everyone except his brother.
It didn't help that he grew up the younger brother of the family "genius." When he finally determined he would never match Eric, he stopped trying.
"This is some hallucination!" Zac suddenly declared. He lifted one of his sneakers off the floor.
"What the hell are you doing?" Eric screamed. "I'm real!"
But, he didn't wait to prove his case to Zac. The sight of the enormous shoe, which looked more than 15 feet long, spurred him into action. He started to flee across the room, but Zac's hand descended with surprising speed.
Eric felt himself grasped in his brother's huge fist.
