Will it ring??

As soon as Anna got home, she took the phone, turned on the TV, and just waited. She knew Jack would be calling soon, and she couldn't wait for him to. This was great! They weren't splitting up after all! This was wonderous!
Anna watched show after show after show after show...but Jack never called.
It even got so late that it was time for Anna to go to bed, and her mom kept forcing her too, but Anna's eyes were glued to that TV--and her ears were glued to the phone.

2. The phone never rings, and Anna has to fall asleep
