They boys all turned towards the cafeteria, no small feat for Geno and Percy, to see Ms. Peach hurrying down the hallway towards them.
"Excuse me, boys," said Ms. Peach, a little out of breath, "have you seen Mike? His mother's on the phone and I can't find him to talk to her."
"I think I saw him in the computer lab," said Geno.
"Thank you," said Ms. Peach, pushing around the boys to the Computer lab.
"What was that about?" asked Matt as the boys watched Ms Peach dissapear into a door down the hall.
"Well," explained Percy, "Mike's mom lives in France as an ambassador to france, and she can only call one a month. So, It's important for him to talk to her."
The boys walked down the hall to the cafeteria. When they entered through the doors, they were met by the sound of idle chatter and clinking silver.
"I'm gonna go over to the prefect table. You enjoy yourself," said Percy, walking away towards a table of rather large boys with little pins that declared, "Prefect," on their chests.
"Here," said Geno, gesturing to a long table surrounded with boys of verying weights and ethinicities, "This is the D1 dorm table."
"Guys," said Geno to the boys at the table, "This is Matt. Matt, this is Paul, Brad, Randy, Rob, Raul, Rico, Leonard, and Brian."
"Hello," said Matt.
The boys glanced quickly up at Matt and waved, then returned to eating. It seemed to Matt that they were all trying to eat as fast and as much as they could.
"What's going on?" asked Matt.
"Hmm?" said Geno, a little dazed, "Oh, well, every year, we have an eating contest between the dorms, and this year, we're going to win."
Right then, a chef pushing a large, food laden cart, came up to the boys. "What'l you have," he asked.
