Mike slams his fists against Nate's closest toe
while at the same time shouting desperately in the
vain hope he might be heard by the giant.
"Nate! Please, you've got to help me!" Mike yells
while pounding on a huge toe that might as well be
a brick wall.
Suddenly, Nate shifts his foot, throwing an
unprepared Mike forward, lodging the tiny man
between two toes. A horrified Mike attempts to
struggle out from between the confines of the
giant's toes. His efforts produce a mild tickling
that finally attracts the giant's notice.
In a distracted movement, Nate lifts his foot and
jerks it forward to dislodge the tiny bug he felt
crawling over his toes. He must have been
successful. He doesn't feel the bug any longer.
Tiny Mike, caught off guard by the whiplash
movements of the enormous foot, was thrown out
from the crevice between the toes and slammed into
the tile floor. He is knocked almost unconscious
by the impact.
His entire body aches. His vision is blurred, but
he can see that giant Nate is on the move again.
And the giant is moving in his direction. Each
sandal-clad foot slams down loudly on the tile
floor. "No!" Mike screams. He tries to regain his
footing. "Nate! Don't step on me!"
The tiny man throws up his arms in front of him as
an enormous an enormous foot overshadows him.
