A plot and a counterplot

Dauphin gave a short, curt nod of agreement at Delpheus' suggestion. She had to give her brother credit for this: though he had stated his objections to invading this kingdom prior to her launching the retaliatory attack, he had given her his unwavering support once the war was launched.

The majority of her troops Dauphin sent to subdue and secure the city. The elite core of her forces, however, she led to take over the castle proper, not knowing she was moving to bring her brother's plans to fruitions.

But as perfect as Delpheus' plan was, there were other forces at work as well, one of those forces being...
