It would have been polite to go downstairs and thank Tamor for his hospitality. However, Dauphin had no desire to drag him into all this. It was best for him to remain unaware of her true purpose in the land, so no blame would fall on his shoulders if she failed.

Regreting leaving her friend she exited swiftly through the window. To bump straight into Tamor!

"Now where do you think you're going?"

"I needed some air," she replied.

"A likely story. I've been watching your window for three hours now, guessing you would do something like this."
