Sweeping back her cloak, she raised her arms high above her head and called upon all the power that she could muster. Her brother wasn't too keen on witnessing the outcome, and was already heading rapidly away from her.
The dragon tore at its bonds, but it was several moments before the guard captain released it from its chains.
The enraged monster tore its way toward Dauphin, dismembering several of the defenders unlucky enough to get in its path. The woman stood calmly, however, eyes closed, palms outstretched.
When the creature was but a foot from her, Dauphin snapped her eyes open, letting it take in the full enormity of her gaze.
In such a situation, there really should have been a loud noise, or at least some flashy explosions. Instead, there was silence while the guards tried to take in what they had just seen.
