The sun had only peaking over the horizon when Chase, the over excited, soon-to-be trainer, awoke with a start. Today was finally the day he finally gets his starter and starts his journey.
After almost choking on his breakfast, he ran over to his neighbour's to celebrate with her.
"Elaine!" he called out, throwing the front door open. Only to see her coming down the stairs.
"Morning, Chase." she greeted with a slight grin on her face.
The two spent the next thirty minutes talking. To be more accurate, Chase was talking while Elaine listened and ate her breakfast.
"Going to see Oak is a waste of time." she stated when he finally stopped. "He told us he would be out until 8AM."
Elaine the pointed to the clock on the wall, showing it was only 7:30.
Not bothering to listen, he immediately ran outside. And made a Combee line for Route 1. The only thing that stopped him was when he felt a lump on the usually smooth ground. Looking back, he realised it was a Pokéflute. Apart from having just been stepped on, it looked pristine.
Acting on every whim, Chase grabbed the flute and headed to Oak's lab and spent the time cleaning the mud off it.
The dirt came off surprisingly easily, and he finished by the time the doors opened. Revealing Oak and Elaine.
"Professor! Can we have our Pokémon?"
Oak let out a chuckle. "Certainly, my boy. Let me just set up."
Elaine calmly walked up to Chase, who was bouncing more than a hyperactive Spoink.
The Professor pulled out a table and set two Pokéballs on it.
"These Pokémon are very unique, and I have selected them specifically for the two of you."
Before he could continue, Chase couldn't wait any longer and felt himself rush towards his options.
