Chapter #3

A Chaotic Cancun Vacation

    by: NeoPhoenixStriker Author IconMail Icon
Finally, what tipped you off was the sight of a stack of passports sitting on the counter. It was all the evidence you needed to remember exactly what today was going to be.

It was the day of your trip down to Cancun, to spend a wonderful week at the Glistening Ocean Resort.

Brinley had been the one to first propose the idea of the Cancun vacation. You and her had been watching a romantic comedy that took place at a beach (well, to be fair, you were pinned under her heavy, sweaty butt cheek after your wife had crushed you during a laughing fit early in the movie, and failed to notice her mistake), and after the movie (and after freeing you and kissing you as an apology), she'd gushed about how pretty the beach looked and how much she really wanted to go with you. You'd had little reason to shoot down her enthusiasm, as a vacation did sound nice, as did the appeal of a week with your wonderful, beautiful wife.

Your enthusiasm for the trip had dimmed, though, once your cousins had caught wind of the plan. Inez had been quick to book herself and Carmine at the resort too, reasoning that 'it's been a while since we've had a family vacation', and that she and Carmine 'won't get in your way, unless we have to' (which was mildly concerning wording). You'd tried to talk them out of it, but Brinley had been overjoyed to know they were coming, having always been a 'more the merrier' type of woman. You'd elected to keep her happy by allowing your cousins to tag along, hoping they'd be simple plus-ones, and not saboteurs of your vacation.

This had all been planned months ago, and today was officially the day that you all were going to head to the Oakland International Airport, and grab a flight down to the Cancun International Airport. From there, it'd be a simple taxi ride over to the Glistening Ocean Resort, which was a world-renowned resort famous for it's top-tier service, nearly-infinite amenities and attractions, and obviously the gorgeous oceanside private beach. It was a veritable heaven on earth, and even with the intrusion of your cousins, you couldn't help but fantasize about how much fun you and your wife would have.

Things had been...a little less than ideal lately, you had to admit. Between your boss, Linda, choosing to now allow unaffected clients at your physical therapy clinic, heedless to the danger and chaos that would bring, and the havoc your cousins had wrought ever since you'd opened your doors to them a month ago, you'd been running on fumes. Your anxiety had been at an all-time-high, and you'd desperately been craving a relaxing and stress-free vacation. As a tiny, you knew there was still a chance for things to go wrong, especially with your adorably ditzy wife, but you were cautiously optimistic that this vacation would be amazingly smooth, and just the recharge you needed.

This'll all go fine. I'm sure of it. You mentally thought to yourself. I'll be fine. I can handle this, and I'll have an amazing time.

"Lost in your thoughts, Insectito?" The taunting voice of Carmine spoke up, breaking you from your internal, confidence-boosting mantra. You turned to spot her leaning against the doorframe, cocky smirk marring her pretty face.

"Just...thinking about our vacation, Carmine."

"Oh, it's all I've been thinking about too." Carmine chuckled darkly. "We're gonna have so much fun, little cousin. Just you wait."

"You better not be planning anything." You chastised, arms folded over your chest.

Carmine feigned offense. "Ah, Insectito, how rude. The only thing I'm planning is for all of us to have an amazing time! Trust me, little cousin," Carmine leered down at you, her voice low and mischievous. "This'll be a vacation to remember."

Despite your best attempts, you shivered in worry at Carmine's words, earning a mocking laugh from your towering cousin. She then sauntered off, leaving you to stew with her words.

The rest of the morning passed by fairly uneventfully. You managed a quick bite to eat, then headed to your bedroom, where you found Brinley scrolling through her phone, lazing about. After reminding her of the vacation, she perked up instantly, and the two of you finished packing your belongings. Brinley filled a regular-sized suitcase, while you filled an affected-sized one. Then, Brinley nestled your suitcase inside her own for safekeeping. Sure, you nearly got folded up in her underwear as your wife excitedly packed, but otherwise it was an incident-free morning.

You all then rode to the airport in Inez's car, her larger vehicle able to more effortlessly hold all of your suitcases (she'd bought the bigger car to accommodate her girlfriend's daughter, Shaye, and all of Shaye's athletic equipment, or Shaye's friends if a carpool was needed. Once again, your older cousin's consideration and attentiveness was impressive and heartwarming...and you wished she'd show you some of that same respectful consideration, and not her 'tough love will strengthen you' craziness that always ended with you hurt and humiliated, all for 'your own good', apparently.

Once reaching the airport, the four of you checked in with your boarding passes, and then began weighing and handing over your suitcases to the airport employee. Carmine's went over the weight, and your younger cousin grumbled and complained as she forked over a $20 to cover the extra weight cost (no doubt the narcissistic, vain woman had been unable to stop herself from packing way more outfits than she needed). Finally, only Inez's suitcase was left, and she began to weigh it.

As she did so, Brinley piped up. "Say, babe, how were you planning on riding to Cancun? Like, in my pocket, or something?"

You frowned. "What do you mean, Brinley? I'll have a seat, right next to you."

"No you won't." Your wife shook her head.

"Yes, I will." You patiently replied, confident your bubbly wife was just being her usual forgetful self. "I know this airline doesn't have affected-sized seating, so I might get bounced around a bit if we hit turbulence, but I'll be right beside you. Don't worry."

"Carmine and Inez are beside me. We didn't buy a seat for you." Brinley explained, blinking at you in confusion.

Now it was your turn to be lost. "Wh...What?" Frantically, you glanced back down at your boarding pass, and your eyes widened in disbelief.

It read: Allegra Pierce, Unseated Tiny Passenger

"H-How did this happen?" You asked.

Brinley smiled at you, as if not getting why you were upset. "Well, like, I was totally gonna buy you a normal seat, but Carmine told me you wouldn't be bothered if we saved money by purchasing an 'Unseated Tiny Passenger' ticket for you. She said it was your idea. Did, like, you forget, babe?" Brinley giggled, totally failing to see the issue with believing you'd 'forgotten', and not that Carmine had manipulated her.

You glared at Carmine, who merely winked back at you in a mocking manner.

Before you could stew longer, Inez spoke up. "Allegra, be mature about this. It's not what you expected, so what? Life throws punches all the time, you have to learn to roll with them. Or better yet, counter them. Sulking won't fix anything."

"Inez, you're not the one who..." You began, only to trail off into a sigh. You'd been about to tell your older cousin off, as it wasn't like she was the one who now had to dehumanize themselves like they were just a carry-on, and not a human. But you knew it'd run right off Inez, like water off a duck's back. Your cousin was utterly stubborn in her misguided beliefs about tinies needing to be toughened up, you most of all.

Inez shook her head. "You need to learn to start seeing this hiccups as learning experiences. You'll grow stronger and faster that way. Now, answer your wife's question. How will you ride to Cancun?"

Your eyes widened, your biggest weakness (decision paralysis) beginning to creep in. You never did well when faced with a plethora of choices, especially when you were forced to make a decision on the spot.

With a sigh, Inez rolled her eyes. "Alright, I'll decide for you. Which is disappointing, Allegra. But I'll handle this for you, force you to face this learning experience."

1) Inez lets you stay with Brinley for the flight, and despite a few little bumps, the flight passes relatively uneventfully.

2) Inez gives you to Carmine, despite your protests. Carmine wastes no time toying with you during the flight, and gets other strangers on the plane involved.

3) Inez gives you to Carmine, despite your protests. Carmine screws with you all flight, while making you look bad, like a delinquent. It culminates in the angry stewardess seizing you, in order to 'discipline such an unruly passenger'.

4) Inez stuffs you into her suitcase for the flight, before handing it to the employee. During the flight, you get banged around and end up squished to Inez's underwear. When they arrive in Cancun, Inez spots you glued to her lingerie, and doesn't lift a finger to help you before moving to put on said underwear.

5) Inez stuffs you into her suitcase for the flight, before handing it to the employee. However, there's a catastrophic mix-up, and Inez's suitcase ends up loaded onto the wrong international flight. When it's opened again, you find yourself staring up at a complete stranger, in a whole different country!
