The tales of dwarves adventuring with members of other races are so memorable because they are so rare. The truth is, if a dwarf must go on a quest, he does it in the company of other dwarves. If he must, he will take one, or at most two, non-dwarves with him. The main component of his adventuring party however, will always be dwarves.
And if a dwarf does a service for any deity, it will always be to Yudoli, god of the forge and father to all dwarvenkind.
These are the two standards of dwarven adventuring. Everything else is looked at with askance (to put it mildly).
The sole exception are those dwarves who become knights in the service of Avida, the goddess of Spring. Dwarves consider these knights, the bane of the undead, as their true friends and allies. A dwarf will even be a gracious host (by dwarven standards) to an elven knight if this order.
The Graniteheads have a long tradition of second sons joining this order, and you are no exception.
