You’re off at summer camp at Camp Shrunkwood only to have been shrunk.
Chapter #1

A Small Start

by: Michael Clayton Author IconMail Icon
The summer sun filtered through the trees as I made my way toward the campfire circle. The first week of camp was always my favorite—everything felt alive, full of potential, and just a little bit magical. **Camp Shrunkwood** wasn’t just any camp; it had a way of getting under your skin, of making you feel like anything was possible.

Today, I had volunteered to help clean up the science cabin after last night’s astronomy session. The counselors always left a mess behind, and someone had to sort out the leftover star charts, strange gadgets, and bottles of chemicals that shouldn’t have been left out in the first place.

As I pushed open the creaky wooden door, a faint hum filled the air. The cabin smelled of old books and ozone, and the odd contraptions scattered across the room gave it the look of a mad scientist’s lair. I set to work, organizing papers and capping jars of what looked like glowing liquid.

That’s when I noticed it: a strange device sitting in the center of the table, its surface covered in dials and blinking lights. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. A small tag hanging from it read:

**“DO NOT TOUCH - Calibration in Progress.”**

But curiosity got the better of me.

“What are you?” I murmured, running my fingers over the cool metal. Without warning, the machine roared to life, emitting a sharp beep that made me jump back. Before I could react, a beam of light shot out, enveloping me in a tingling warmth. My vision blurred, my balance wavered, and the world seemed to stretch and warp around me.

When the sensation stopped, I opened my eyes—and froze.

The cabin was gone, replaced by an enormous landscape of towering furniture and vast wooden floorboards. The dials on the machine, now miles above me, blinked mockingly. My heart raced as I tried to comprehend what had happened.

“I’ve been... shrunk?”

The sound of footsteps jolted me out of my thoughts. Through the gap beneath the door, I saw a shadow moving closer. Someone was coming! I needed to act fast.

---

1. Run for Cover: Dive beneath the table and find a hiding spot before whoever is outside enters the cabin.

2. Climb the Machine: Attempt to scale the strange device to see if there’s a way to reverse the shrinking process.

3. Signal for Help: Stay in the open and try to get the attention of whoever is coming in, hoping they won’t panic—or worse, step on you.

4. Escape Outside: Squeeze through the gap under the door and venture into the forest for safety, leaving the cabin behind.

You have the following choices:
