Jaden chugged down another bottle of beer in depression. It had been a week, and he was still a wreck. He was on a date with his girlfriend Alexis Rhodes when someone decided to mug them. Jaden was able to subdue the man, but failed to think about accomplices. Alexis noticed and pushed him out of the way as the man fired his gun, hitting her instead. He called for help, but unfortunately, they couldn't save her in time. She affirmed that she'd always love him, whether in this world or the next.
After getting kicked out of the bar, Jaden continued sobbing when he was suddenly enveloped in a strange light. Once he came to, he noticed he was somewhere strange.
