"Oh, you're kidding..." Derek muttered when he was given his assignment. Thankfully for his sake, the principal hadn't heard him. "That will be all. I will possibly see you later this afternoon to reassign you, as the preschool is released far before any of the other levels," she directed. Derek begrudgingly nodded and left her office. "The preschool section, really? Daycare isn't really my forte. I mean for crying out loud, is it really such a good idea for someone at my size to be walking around a group full of energetic toddlers?" He knew the answer to that question, which would be no. Though Derek knew before he even arrived at the preschool section, there was nothing he could do to stop the now inevitable trouble he would experience.
Not long after Derek arrived at his assigned classroom, the teacher arrived. She noticed him climbing to get up on the desk and await her presence. Walking over, the young woman reached the desk far sooner than Derek was able to complete his climb. "Hi there," she soothed as she gently lifted him up to the table. "My name's Sarah, Sarah Davis. I'm the little ones' teacher. You must be Derek, I'm guessing." Once up on the desk, Derek turned around to acknowledge Sarah. He had a double take when he saw the woman. She appeared barely any older than him, if she was older at all. The young lady had blonde hair, light skin, and freckles galore. Her shiny blue eyes beautifully reflected her enthusiasm for her job. "Hi there," Derek finally spoke. "Yes, I'm Derek. What is it you might need me to do today?" Sarah ran over some directions with Derek. For the most part, she wanted him to make sure the kids wouldn't go off on any tantrums and perhaps help guide them back to whatever task they were given. Though Derek was nervous about this given his size, he wanted to do his job. After given the instructions, a rush of toddlers came into the room. Derek lowered his head and took a deep breath. Before long, he found himself on the floor walking around the jittery toddlers.
