Heaving himself up the little girl, Derek did his best not to alert her. Taking slow and cautious steps, the little man did an excellent job at not provoking the sleeping giant. He quickly made it up to Lola's hip before sliding down her thighs and down to the other side of the bed. Derek still crunched his nose or coughed as the smell of the girl's fart still lingered, but he knew that fresh air was on the horizon. And sooner than he expected, Derek found his way out from under Lola's covers and sat at the edge of her bed. He turned back to look at the sleeping girl and confirmed that she hadn't felt a thing. Grinning, the tiny assistant soon got off of the little girl's bed and rested on the carpeted floor. "Thank goodness," Derek spoke aloud, "that girl was causing me just too much trouble. But now what?" That question crept into Derek's mind. Great, now he was free from the playful elementary student! But now what? Where was he going to go? It was presumably the middle of the night, he had no idea where this girl's house was in relation to his own, and there clearly were other people in the house, considering Lola had spoken with her mom earlier. The first confident decision Derek made was to get out of Lola's room. He walked casually out and crawled beneath her closed door. Once out into the hallway, there were many options for Derek to go.
Directly across the hall appeared to be another bedroom. Snoring came from there. Derek assumed that it was Lola's parents' room. To his right was the bathroom. Though he wasn't entirely sure why he would go there, Derek thought that it could potentially offer as a backup if things went south. Then there was a new hallway to his left. Walking over to the corner, Derek looked down the dark path and could vaguely make out the two rooms that sat at the end of the hallway from the moonlight protruding from the windows. The room to the left appeared to be the kitchen while the room to the right appeared to be the living room. Considering time could be a factor, Derek took out his phone. It was much later than he anticipated, at 5:47 a.m. With that in mind, Derek considered the fact that the parents could wake up sometime soon, depending on if they had to get to work early. There was also the possibility of the little girl getting up earlier than expected, which could cause Jack a lot of trouble.
At the end of his thinking, where does Jack choose to go?
