Max looked out his bedroom window and let out a sigh. “It’s not fair” he thought to himself. Max was jealous, jealous because all of his friends had brothers, but Max just had his twin sister. Alissa was his twin sister and was not interested in spending time with Max whatsoever although Max didn't want to spend much time with her either. Max found her annoying she just cared about girly things and nothing that Max found interesting. She spent most of her time in her room when she was at home which was a rare occurrence because she was usually out with her friends doing who knows what. They used to be closer when they were younger, but as they got older they began to drift apart Alissa hung out with her girl friends more than him and Max hung out with the guys more. Alissa was more preoccupied with her petty teenage lifestyle at least that’s how Max viewed it. He thought it was such a drag to hear about the gossip and the drama she had going on her life he’d constantly catch himself thinking about how girls are insufferable. His friends however all had brothers and he saw how they got along. Yeah sure there was the typical fighting and bickering between them, but they still had a bond that only brothers could have and experiences that max would never get to experience. As all these feeling stirred inside max he saw a star shoot across the sky. He then whispered to himself…
“I wish I had a brother instead”.
Max laughed a little at the thought of a shooting star that could change anything about his life. What’s happened has happened nothing can be done about it. He’d just have to learn to live with his sister for a little while longer. Before he moved out starting next summer after graduation.
“Just until then…”.
Max headed off to bed and the house then became quiet. All but the ticking of the clock could be heard. The second hand approached 12 to complete the last minute of the night. When the clock finally reached midnight something strange began to occur. Some sort of electrical current radiated throughout the house. It worked its way around the halls and eventually entered Alissa’s room. The static current made her hair stand on edge. And the air in the room sparked and snapped. Alissa remained asleep during all of this unaware of the changes that were about to begin.
