This choice: Leifra, a female elf exploring the world. • Go Back... Leifra smiles, enjoying her barefoot stroll along a dirt road, far away from the elven forest she calls home. Out here, just about anything can happen. The sense of adventure fills the petite blonde elf with excitement. Her bright blue eyes imagining the discoveries on the road ahead. Her family was reluctant to let her leave, thinking her too naïve to be let out into a world as a dangerous as Wrivania. Most of the hesitation came from her brother Kealos, who seems to think very little of humans and their world. But even if what her brother believes is true, she still wants to see for herself. And, if those humans are as ‘petulant’ as her brother claims, she has her own ways of dealing with them.
However, after a few days of travel, Leifra still hasn’t ran into anything but wildlife. Mostly relying on her expert survival skills as an elf to hunt for food, and set up camp by herself. Believing that now she has found this dirt path, it won’t be long before she runs into someone, the young elf begins to hum a soft tune, inspired by a song her mother used to sing to her. The birds around her don’t seem to care much for it, preferring to chirp their own little mating calls as a backdrop, while the sunlight gives her long wavy blonde hair a beautiful shine, and washes her flawless pale skin with a healthy glow.
Sometime in the afternoon, she finally finds a sign of another race’s presence. A small camp of three sleeping tents, set up around an unlit campfire. Backpacks, satchels, food and weapons all lay strewn about the place. It’s quite messy, and not how an elf would keep camp, but Leifra assumes this might just be what humans and other races are like. The dismissive scoffs of her brother echo through her head, bringing a smile to her face, as she whispers what he would say, “Tsk, humans…”
She deduces that no one would just leave all their belonging unattended for long, and that whomever is camping here must not have gone far, and will no doubt return soon. Thinking this is her best opportunity to finally meet some new people, and hopefully traveling companions, Leifra decides to wait here at the camp for a bit.
She lowers herself into the grass, and sits down not far from the unlit campfire, leaning back on her palms. The elf continues to hum her song, as she sunbathes for a bit. Minutes pass, as she relaxes with a bright smile, stretching her toes, and letting the blades of grass tickle her feet. After a while, she hears what seems to be a voice in the distance, causing her pointy ears to twitch. She turns and looks into the forest beside the camp, but doesn’t see anyone. She frowns, and is quickly distracted by something touching her big toe. Something other than grass.
Leifra looks down to see a strange, tiny creature, unlike any bug she’s ever seen before. The wildlife out here, must take a very different form to that of the adorable little creatures from the elven forest, which she has known her entire life. Her face scrunches into a mixture of surprise and disgust, as she reflexively raises her foot towards it. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
