Someone goes on a journey with a unique pokeflute. GP's for additions.
This choice: Elio  •  Go Back...
Elio was exhausted. When he left Kanto with his mother, the sun was setting. They managed to get some sleep on the plane, but the sun was rising when they landed.

Getting to their new home, Elio went straight to bed.

Next thing he knew, Meowth was waking him up. He could really kill the pokémon in that moment.

Checking the time, he found that he'd been asleep for three hours. So he got dressed and followed Meowth to find his mother unpacking.

"Morning, Elio." she said with a smile. "You were out like a light, how're you feeling?"

He rubbed his eyes, "Tired. How do you have so much energy?"

"Guess I'm just too excited to see Alolan pokémon to feel tired." At that moment, someone rang the doorbell.

She picked up a box and headed for her room. "Could you see who that is? I need to put my personal stuff in my room."

He was too exhausted to care what "personal stuff" she was talking about.

When he opened the door, he saw a guy in an open white lab coat and no shirt standing in the doorway.

"Hey, Michael. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Sorry, who are you?"

The man introduced himself as Professor Kukui and that they'd met before, years ago. He'd gone to research Kanto pokémon moves and wound up facing off against the Indigo League but lost to Lance.

That helped jog his memory. "Oh yea! You took them by surprise with your Alolan variants."

"Not to mention his connection with them." Elio's mom said, coming back out.

"Hahaha, yea. Actually, I put in a good word for you, and the Island Kahuna is actually prepared to give you a pokémon so you can take on the Island Challenges."

Kukui walked with Elio to Iki Town and how the Island Challenges were similar to Gym Battles, but were a test of a trainer's intelligence and bond with their pokémon. When they arrived though, no one was waiting for them.

"Strange, they were supposed to be right here. Elio, I'm going to go look for him, stay here in case he's just late, OK?" Then he left back where they came.

Elio walked to the wooden circle when he saw a girl with long blond hair and a white hat and dress talking to a bag, walking up a trail. Out of curiosity, he decided to follow her.

Making his way up the windy path, he stepped on a pokéflute. Thinking the girls dropped it, he picked it up and kept going.

"Help! Someone, help!"

Elio immediately began running the rest of the way to find her looking across a bridge. At the centre was a blue cloudy pokémon being attacked by Spearow. He didn't say anything, he just ran across the bridge and protected it.

After getting pecked a few times, he heard a thunder bolt scar the Spearow away. Looking up, he saw the pokémon he knew was called Tapu Koko looking back at him. It threw down a sparkling rock and flew away.

Getting back to the girl, she thanked you for saving Nebby.

"Why did you run off like that? I was so scared." She sounded more worried than angry.

"I'm sorry to ask but, do you think you could keep Nebby a secret? I can't say why, except that it's important."

He nodded. "Yea, sure. By the way, I think you dropped this." He said, giving back the flute.

"You must be mistaken, I've never owned something like that."

With no way to know who it may belong to, he decided to keep it.

After walking back to Iki Town, he saw Kukui with a rather big fella. Kukui laughed, saying you'd met his assistant.

She introduced herself as Lillie and apologised for not doing so earlier.

"I am Hala, the Kahuna of this island. I, too, must apologise. As Kahuna, it is my duty to take care of any issues that come up."

Lillie told Hala of what happened with Tapu Koko, causing him to sound impressed.

"Our island guardian is a fickle creature. For it to save you, there must be something truley special about you." He turned to face Kukui. "Whatever doubts I had of an outsider taking part in the Island Trials are most assuredly gone. I hope you'll forgive me for questioning you."

Kukui laughed again. "No problem. It isn't common for outsiders to take part, afterall."

"Indeed." He turned back to Elio. "Well then, young man. I suppose it is time for you to get your starter."

He walked towards the wooden circle and released three pokémon. "Now then, choose who will accompany you."
