Juliana was getting dressed in her new orange uniform. She headed downstairs to find her mother holding her school bag, which looked to already be packed.
"I thought you'd want to make a start on meeting your friend."
She was confused. Until she remembered that Nemona had called the previous night, asking to meet her.
She grabbed her bag and gave her mother a hug goodbye. Before leaving, she ran back upstairs to grab the pokéflute she received for her birthday. Juliana would hate herself if she forgot it.
As she made her way to Nemona's house, she got to thinking again about why she wanted to meet up with her so soon before the opening ceremony. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she saw the gates were open.
Making her way inside, there was a boy in the Academy uniform talking with Nemona and Director Clavell. She also noticed the Paldean starters walking around.
"Not quite." She heard the director say. "He has yet to officially make his decision, after all."
"Well, he must be lucky to choose." The boy turned towards her, looking rather shocked.
After Juliana and Nemona introduced themselves, he introduced himself as Florian and explained that his acceptance papers arrived late, so he was given permission to choose his starter early as an apology.
"Oh, so you must be the knew neighbour that moved in." Nemona stated before turning to the director. "Oh, if you'd allow, I'd like Juliana to be allowed to choose as well. She's a skilled trainer."
He just nodded. "Very well. First Florian will choose, then Juliana, and then you. Is that acceptable?"
They all agreed, so Florian finally was forced to pick one.
