Molly was more nervous than she’d ever been. If this guy she’d never met before a few days ago couldn’t properly convince the judge, the jury or whoever she was innocent she’d be facing fines that would put more than a dent in her savings. Or worse, jail time. She wasn’t made for jail! She wasn’t made for any of this. She just wished that this could all be over with. Why did adulting have to be so unfair!!
It was then that Molly felt an odd sensation, a shift, almost, pass over her. After which, she couldn’t help but notice something wrong. She just couldn’t put her finger on what.
Before she could properly assess the sensation her lawyer was called upon to make his last statement before recess. When she looked at him and he looked back at her she gave him a funny look and tousled his clients hair as he stood and addressed the judge lady. “Your honor, my client-“
