Stelle sat quietly on the sofa, in the main cabin aboard the Astral Express, her gaze fixed on the stars streaking past the window. The soft hum of the train’s engines reverberated in the background, but her mind was elsewhere. The encounter with the Stellaron lingered in her thoughts, heavy and strange. Its cryptic words—“Follow the path of others”—echoed in her mind, gnawing at her curiosity.
The others had been concerned. Himeko insisted she rest, March tried to cheer her up with jokes, and even Dan Heng offered a quiet, “Let us know if anything changes.” But none of them could truly understand what she was feeling—an odd connection to something deeper. Everyone then left the room, to do their chores or just chill in their cabins. Well, except for one pink-haired girl who was about to broke Stelle's reverie.
“Stelle? Can I sit with you ?” March called. Without waiting for permission, she peeked her head in. “Wanna talk?”
Stelle hesitated before nodding. “Yeah.”
March took a deep breath, her usual playful demeanor was subdued by concern. “So… how’re you feeling? No sudden urges to explode or become a Stellaron monstruosity?”
“Not funny, March,” Stelle replied, her tone flat but tinged with amusement.
March gave her a sheepish smile. “Sorry. But seriously, what’s going on? You’ve been acting kinda… distant.”
Stelle hesitated, searching for the right words. “I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like I can feel some heat in me, waiting to be awakened.”
March blinked, a bit surprised “Wait. You mean you could, like… have a new power? Do you know how you can ... rouse it?”
Stelle nodded, unsure how to explain the strange pull she’d felt ever since meeting the Stellaron. “More of a feeling. It could be to follow others paths. So, I should need someone else to activate it.”
“Okay, that’s both super cool and super freaky,” March said, leaning back. “Have you tried it yet?”
“No.”
“Well, you’ve gotta test it out, right? How else are you gonna figure out what it does?” March leaned forward, her grin returning. “Go on, try it with me. I’m giving you permission!”
Stelle hesitated. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah! What’s the worst that could happen? Besides, if you’re gonna to weird things to someone, better me than someone who’d, like, freak out.”
The Trailblazer girl hesitates. March ideas make sense but ... Does she really want to use her friend as a guinea pig? What if it destroys her?
