Chapter #6A rather unusual Wardance arc by: Unknown Hook frowned as she turned in her bed. It was so early in the morning that Svarog would scold her if he saw she was awake, but she was so annoyed that she couldn't fall back asleep. She had been fantasizing for quite some time about entering the Wardance so she could face March and impress Stelle, but not only did all the adults in Beloborg treat her like a silly child every time she brought up the possibility, but she also wasn’t even being able to really explore the Luofu. Ever since she tried to confront that very pretty fox lady to prove her strength (she was totally not jealous of how powerful and cool she was), Svarog hadn't taken his eyes off her and barely let her do anything.
"Such a killjoy," she muttered. "Besides, I only escaped from him a couple of times to play with that shorty. I had no way of knowing that I was helping her slack off...or encouraging her to start her own business behind her boss's back or something. I thought she was joking when she told me."
Unfortunately, it seemed that Lady Xu Fuan or whatever her name was had already guessed that Qingque would try something like that, so she had prepared a preemptive punishment for her. Discovering that Hook had been two games away from becoming addicted to gambling didn't sit too well with Svarog, who had since imposed strict schedules on her free time. "Humans can lose control of their own dopamine levels and form lasting self-destructive habits at very early ages," he had told her. She had no idea what dopamine was, but she wished she had a lot of it just to annoy him.
And the worst of all was that Belobog still had the economy of an underdeveloped world compared to the Luofu, so she hadn't been able to buy even a quarter of all the souvenirs she wanted. In fact, she had barely touched the special allowance her father had offered her. After the fiasco that was her last birthday present, guilt prevented her from using much of his money. It bothered her a little that the bad woman who had tried to buy her planet was much richer than she needed to be. March insisted that she wasn't as bad as she seemed, but she found it hard not to be a little resentful.
In the end, the most she had been able to do was cheer up Luka a bit, in whom she had never really had any hope of winning. Yes, he was very strong, but she was sure that Stelle would defeat him blindfolded, and she assumed that in the Luofu there would be at least someone capable of facing her in strength. She became even more irritated when she remembered again that she hadn't been able to impress her. In the end, everything had gone wrong.
Fortunately, her frustrations distracted her so much that she gradually fell asleep. With a little luck, she would have some kind of relaxing dream that would help her forget how mediocre her vacation had been. They were still going to stay in the Luofu for two more weeks, but she was starting to wish they were over.
Little did she know that she was about to experience the strangest event of her life.
