This choice: It would be safer to return to the station, Herta knows about Stellarons • Go Back...Chapter #6Back to the Herta Space Station by: Eln The Astral Express hummed gently as it sped along the star rail toward the Herta Space Station. Inside, the atmosphere was tense. Stelle sat in the main lounge, gazing out the window at the streaking stars, her thoughts a tangled mess. She could still feel the faint presence of the Stellaron lingering within her—a peculiar, weightless sensation, as though a part of her now extended beyond herself.
March plopped onto the seat beside her, her usual cheer tempered by worry. “You’ve been really quiet since we left. Are you sure you’re okay?”
Stelle turned to her, offering a small nod. “I’m fine… physically, at least. But… something feels different. Like there’s something new inside me, and I don’t know how to handle it.”
March frowned, leaning closer. “Do you think it’s dangerous? Like, Stellaron-explode-your-soul dangerous?”
“I don’t think so,” Stelle replied, though the uncertainty in her voice didn’t exactly inspire confidence. “It doesn’t feel hostile. Just… overwhelming.”
Himeko and Welt entered the room, their expressions somber. Dan Heng followed, carrying his ever-present data pad.
“We’ve contacted Herta,” Himeko said, sitting across from Stelle. “She agreed to do a check again. She said you'll just have to take a ride of her "Simulated Universe".”
Stelle sighs. Obviously Herta was going to take advantage of this to make her do her work. But a better understanding of this dormant force in her at this cost still is a must-buy.
“I accept. I'll do what she wants"
“I also think she's curious about your condition.” Dan Heng said, his tone neutral as he scrolled through his pad. “It’s a thing when it comes to Herta. Be prepared for invasive questions… and possibly invasive procedures.”
“Reassuring...” Stelle muttered, earning a chuckle from March.
The Astral Express docked smoothly at the Herta Space Station, the familiar yet foreboding halls welcoming them back. One of Herta's doll herself was waiting in the station’s dock, her mechanical body idly tapping its foot.
“My big mistery is once again back. Hurry up and do what you have to do, then meet me in the usual place.”
Of course, the Simulated Universe room. Typical Herta. But for the moment, the traiblazer girl is allowed to have some freedom before being taken by the genius doll. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
