Because of your above-average gnome durability, you weren't exactly concerned about dying or anything upon landing on the table. You knew that the worst you'd suffer was a bruised or maybe broken bone, but that in an academy filled with magic and talented spellcasters, you could get it healed before long. Even then, you certainly weren't expecting your landing to be as soft as it ended up being, feeling like you'd plummeted onto a pillowy cloud.
Except the cloud was light-brown in color, and had the strong smell of freshly-baked bread. Tentatively, you picked up a tiny chunk of the cloud and bit into it, smiling at the delicious taste of a fresh pancake. Despite being conjured by a magic spell, it tasted just like the farm-fresh pancakes you'd had back in your gnome village, courtesy of Grumio. It was such a nostalgic taste that you zoned out for a moment, taking another bite.
It was only after that second bite that you realized you were a colossal idiot for forgetting your circumstances. This plate wasn't conjured for you! You'd landed on the plates of one of the four giantesses eating their breakfast, and if they hadn't noticed your arrival, you needed to act fast to get their attention!
Glancing up, you prepared to shout out to the closest giant. Said giant happened to be Alexis, cluing you in that it was her plate of pancakes that you'd landed on. Directly in front of you was her monumental chest (a temporarily distracting sight, given the way the swell of her breasts strained against her pink top), and above that was her face. Impossibly huge, very pretty...and utterly focused straight ahead on her friends, and not the gnome who'd fallen from the sky to land atop her pancakes.
The words of warning formed in your mouth, the perfect shout to get her attention...only for said shout to die as you realized Alexis' hands were extended, and they were holding a glass jar with a screwed on top. The jar was transparent, and inside you could see it was filled with a viscous golden liquid, goopy in texture. Said jar was being tilted even as you took in the sight of it, Alexis angling it downward, pointing the nozzle right at you. It was syrup.
She's about to drown her pancakes in syrup! You internally cried.
Your hesitation ended up spelling your downfall. Instead of recognizing your plight and screaming out for Alexis' attention, you'd been too caught up in analyzing your situation instead of acting on it! Your inexperience in dealing with giant-sized species was showing, and now it was going to cost you dearly, as by the time you finally let out a cry, the nozzle began squirting syrup onto the pancakes. And the nozzle's squeaky sound it produced drowned out your own cry!
Mouth open in a scream unheard by the four giants at the table, you were left helpless as syrup flooded into your mouth. You began to cough and gag, trying to wipe the syrup away, but it just kept pouring onto your body. Eventually the syrup grew too heavy, your body forced to bend backwards onto your back as more and more of the golden goop poured from the jar, like an unending waterfall of sickly sweet sugary syrup. It coated your limbs, soaked into your clothes, globbed up your ears and mouth, and soon began to form a blurry layer over your eyes. You were helpless.
Alexis, of course, just kept happily pouring the syrup onto her pancakes. She'd always had a sweet tooth, but that sweet tooth specifically loved syrup. There was just no better combination than the intensely filling breakfast of pancakes, and the sweet aroma and taste of dousing it all in syrup. Lauren's disgusted expression told the girl that her elf companion didn't approve, and the exercise-loving Brooke would obviously never use so much sugar either, but Alexis didn't care that her friends were missing out. It just meant more for her!
Alexis didn't stop with the syrup until she'd drained nearly the entire jar, finally setting aside when her plate was more syrup than pancakes. She could hardly even see her three thick buttermilk pancakes under all of that syrup, and that was a-okay with her! She licked her lips in anticipation, leering over her impending delicious breakfast with so much joy on her face that she knew she probably looked silly. Again, she cared little, more than okay with being a little silly if it meant enjoying so many scrumptious pancakes. True, she hoped no cute tiny gnomes or fairies were around to watch her salivate like this, but a quick glance at the table confirmed that that was true.
Picking up her knife and fork, Alexis began the work of cutting into her meal.
Down in said meal, you gazed up at the giantess through a blurry sheen of gold, the syrup having completed covered up and coated you. Though she was staring right at you, it was as if Alexis was looking through you, and you realized with a glum sense of despondency that she couldn't see you at all. That despondency then turned to fear and panic as you watched the gigantic girl pick up a knife and fork and jam the deadly sharp utensils right down into the pancakes, narrowly avoiding spearing your head! She was going to kill you, all without realizing it!
Alexis hummed a little song to herself as she worked, cutting and slicing her tall stack of pancakes into more manageable bites. After every few cuts, she eagerly licked the syrup off of her knife and fork, granting herself a tantalizing preview treat of the meal to come, though she was savoring the first real bite for once she'd actually cut the stack into pieces. She quickly settled into a rhythm, and let her muscle memory do the work as she glanced at her friends.
"So...anybody make friends with any little cuties yet?" Alexis asked with anticipation, eyeing each of her friends.
Lauren, predictably, scoffed. "Uh, yeah. Like I'd want to willingly be friends with a tiny species. Elves are so much better off than doing something like that."
Alexis nodded. "Okay, gotcha. Lauren's too prissy to make friends other than us."
Lauren blushed. "W-Wait, that's not what I said. I-I totally could make friends with a tiny student i-if I wanted to."
"Then prove it!" Alexis shot her elf friend a cheeky grin, and Lauren glared at her upon realizing she'd fallen into the peppy girl's trap. Alexis then looked to Morgan and Brooke. "You two? Any luck?"
Morgan shook her head. "Nah, but I've tried." She took a deep sip of her coffee. "Little guys just seem afraid of me. I'm chill as hell, but whenever I try to make that clear they all run."
Alexis tapped her chin with her thumb, while she continued to saw into her pancakes. "Sure it isn't your big black combat boots that scare them off?"
Morgan looked thoughtful. "Huh...maybe."
Alexis looked to Brooke at last. "And big bunny Brooke? Any luck?"
Brooke took a brief pause from utterly demolishing her plate full of sausage, some food still in her mouth as she answered. "Nuhuh. Noh suuuuch luck." She garbled.
Alexis laughed. "Drink, girlfriend! We can't understand you!"
Brooke sheepishly downed her water and gulped. "Sorry. No such luck, I said. I really wanna find a little one eager to get stronger, though. I haven't had a trainer partner in a while, and a tiny training partner? Imagine the unique exercises you could do!" Brooke explained, the faintest hint of a blush in her white fluffy cheeks.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Alexis concurred. "I'd love a cutie to play with, and show around school, and be friends with, and play with...and play with!" She giggled again, then finally drew her attention back to her plate. All cut up nicely, it was ready to be consumed, and Alexis' rumbling tummy as all the go-sign she needed to dig in.
Across the table, Lauren rolled her eyes. "Only one thing ever on that girl's mind. Almost makes me feel bad for a tiny who crossed her path."
Morgan chuckled into her coffee. "Two things, Lauren. Tinies, and pancakes. But yeah, she's not exactly subtle about wanting a tiny boyfriend. Good luck to anyone who catches her eye."
With that, the friends turned back to their own breakfasts, and Alexis launched into her own.
By this point, you'd said more prayers than you ever had in your life, and yet you still remained firmly glued to the top most center piece of the pancake stack, the syrup hardening around you like a viscous goopy shell. As Alexis' fork descended, your life once more flashed before your eyes, only for the girl's over-eager aim to upset the delicate pile of pancake pieces, knocking yours off the stack. Your vision turned from Alexis' voracious face, to a whip-pan of the cafeteria, and finally to the plate itself, before your piece slammed down.
You groaned, your face now pressed down into the plate, and more of the syrupy swamp swallowing you up because of it. For a brief moment, you felt as if you might now drown in the syrup, as even as you tried to swallow some of it to clear your mouth area, there was just too much for your miniscule self to handle. Salvation came a moment later...though it also could've been your doom instead.
Alexis recovered her fallen piece of pancake, skewering it with her fork. One prong of the fork pierced through right above your head, two more through the side of your shirt and pants, and one through one of your shoes. Yet again you narrowly avoiding being impaled, but as you and the pancake piece began to rise into the air, the plate dropping out from below you, you knew that it wasn't as if you were in the clear. Far from it, with Alexis now raising you up to her mouth.
With whatever strength you could muster, you fought to peel free from the syrupy. The fork tore at your clothing, and with a surprise 'pop' you ripped free. Naked, now, thanks to your clothes remaining glued, but free! You begin to fall away from the pancake piece.
But fall to where?
