Across the aisle, there was a canvas of brightly colored plastic candy bags, containing everything from gummies to chocolates. Their lack of nutrition was balanced out by the attractiveness of their packaging to the human eye. When the coast was clear, you marched across the dusty tile and under the food shelf. The bottom railing was coated in dirt and rust but was just short enough for your scale.
Walking under the first hanging back of candy, you nearly trip over a strand of hair nearly the size of you! While still disgusting, the hair looked to be the perfect length for reaching the bag of gummy bears above you. Using all the strength you can muster, you arch your back and pull on the thick hair follicle. Once it begins to rise, you carefully teeter it around until the tip is leaning safely against the bag. Congratulations! You just make a makeshift fireman's pole!
You spend the last of your energy slowly sliding up the hair onto the slick surface of the bag. Luckily the position of the candy inside formed small ledges along the side of the bag letting you rest up and wait for someone to grab you.
It had been almost half an hour of watching legs drift back and forth down the aisle until one pair finally stopped in front of you. They belonged to what you assumed to be a girl no older than 12. She was wearing faded pink Crocs with little character accessories fixed to some of the holes on top of the shoes. As she crouched down, you could just barely make out her face from between her legs. She had brown hair and a toothy smile as her eyes fixated on the gummy bears.
Who you assume to be her mom, peers over her should and scowls. " Caroline, do you really need to be eating those so soon after lunch?" Despite her displeasure, you couldn't deny her beauty! "Yes! Aunt Laura please??"
After a few moments, her aunt gave in and agreed. Before you could get another look, Caroline's giant hand wrapped around you, squishing you between her palm and the bag. She has yet to feel or notice you and if you wait any longer you might suffocate! You find just enough room to wiggle up or down. You don't have long to decide whether to go up on top of her hand or down back to the floor...
