Chapter #1

A Fairy’s Wish.

    by: Daniel4545 Author IconMail Icon
You, a young man in his 20’s, find yourself walking through the forest. It was getting late and you were heading home, as you didn’t want to end up getting lost, especially at this time of day, if you can still call it that. The sun was already setting and you could barely make out your little cabin in the woods.

A sigh escapes your breath, work was difficult today and getting home was even worse. Your cabin was surrounded by trees, which leads to you having to abandon your truck at the closest motel, the rest of the journey to your house is just a long walk through the woods. Sometimes those long walks turn into quick jogs as you try to beat the setting Sun. However, despite your bad luck with traffic today, you find yourself lucky, not needing to jog.

You have an athletic build and nice toned body, topped off with your height of 6 feet 5 inches, a height and body that most men would kill for. Yet, the jog to the cabin was always a chore that you avoided if you could, preferring to walk. You preferred only to run on your treadmill and work your body only on the machines at home. Kept you from getting bored. Although, someone could easily mistaken you for coming right back from the gym, as you preferred to wear a snug black short sleeved T-shirt that most men use in the gym, it helped define and outline your body under the clothing. The only clothes on you that might set someone off from thinking you just came back from the gym would be your long dark blue jeans and your heavy boots that you often preferred over normal shoes.

You reach your hand up and stroke it through your long bright blonde hair, your braid swayed side to side as you walked and messed with it. Looking up at the sky, you smile. Despite the long walk, you find the peace and quiet relaxing, no one’s honking at you for going to slow, your not being hounded by your boss, it was paradise, especially after such a long week. The thought of sleeping in for the weekend excited you. Maybe you’ll take a long nice warm shower, or perhaps a warm bubble bath with some relaxing music.

Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by an unfamiliar voice, quickly brining your walk to a halt as you stop and look around for the noise.

“Hello?” You scan the area around you and listen closely, trying to locate the voice. Then there it is again? That strange voice…you can’t quite make out what it is…until…

“Up here!” You look up a little confused, but are suddenly met with a shocking discovery. A young woman, about in her 20’s with beautiful emerald eyes, met the gaze of your light blue eyes.

Her long messy light green hair blew in the slight wind, forcing her to blow it out of her face. Her smooth bright skin seemed to shine despite the lack of sunlight looked well kept, similar to yours. Her light purple dress lacked sleeves and only went down to her knees, it had some strange white cloth that wrapped around her lower arms and shoulder’s connected to her back, the front was connected to a red ring on her flat chest, keeping the cloth together and around her upper torso. Looking closely you could also make out her two kinda large canines, as well as a strange piece of jewelry held onto her forehead by a red string the went around her head, a red jewel laid on a small piece of gold in the dented of it. Other than that, she was mostly bare, no shoes or anything. Other than that…she seemed normal…until you realize that your brain isn’t pulling tricks on you, nor are you seeing things. She was only about a foot tall, you could easily fit most of her thin body in your hand. You could see her strange pointed ears poking out from her hair, and what really gave away what she was, was her thin transparent wings located on her back, both wings sparkling on as you stared in disbelief. A fairy.

She squirmed in what appeared to be a spider web, trying to break free as her wings vibrated in a slight panic. You simply stared, surprised by the small fairy’s beauty…but then snapped back to the situation at hand when you saw the creepy crawly approaching her. It was a small spider… way too small to harm her, at least that’s what you thought until you saw the red dot on its rear. Acting quickly, you simply flick your finger at the little spider and send it flying…successfully saving the little fairy.

You reach out and gently pull her out of the spider web, wrapping your fingers around her torso. You can feel her wings vibrate and tickle your hand as you gently hold her, before you gently place her down on a rock. “You ok?”

She looks down at herself and dusts her dress off, sighing, she nods. “Yeah…thanks, could’ve been a little quicker and gentler.”

“Well uh…you’re welcome?” You say to her, a little surprised by her kind of rude attitude. “…well uh, glad to help…see ya.” You simply start to walk off, fairies were rare, but rumors of them charming people for food and money made you a little uncomfortable.

And sure enough, you found the rumors to be true. “Wait! You ain’t even gunna ask my name?! Or tell me who my handsome savior is?!…maybe offer a stressed beautiful lady such as myself a snack?” She smiles and takes flight besides you. Her voice was truly beautiful and nice…soothing too.

“Dan.” You keep walking but glance over at her. “You?”

“Eh?…oh! My name! I’m Celeste!” She smiles before flying in front of you to stop you. “Now, you got any food or something? I’m really hungry.” She gives you a kind and warm smile, trying to charm you.

“Cute name, and no.” You stop and stare at her, before bluntly and in a kind of annoyed voice ask her. “Aren’t you supposed to be the one awarding me for saving you?”

“Eh?…oh…uh..yeah.” She sighs, kinda annoyed that you remembered that, hoping to just trick you with her charms straight away, which only increased her slight and silent annoyance. “Not a lot I can do…can grant you one wish of sorts?…if that will work.”

“? Really?” You respond to her surprised. “What can I wish for?”

She shrugs. “Almost anything, I have my limits…haven’t really granted a wish before so…just hit me with what whatever you want.”

You pause for a moment and think…. Finally you come to your conclusion and decide. “I wish…”
