Miley and Claire were out for their evening jog. They had just ran by the Jones' house, which marked the half way mark. They were fortunate to be on the other side of the road from Mrs Johnson who had a habit of almost accidentally hitting them.

They slowed down for a moment to let Naomi and Ryan pass with their two golden retrievers, Sunshine and River. The dogs wagged their tails excitedly at them as they continued jogging by.

"What's that?" Miley asked Claire pointing up into the sky where there was a brief flash of purple light. Claire shrugged and kept going. Only something quickly changed...
