“We're at a size pit. I'd add illegal, but as none of them are legal I think that's implied.” Anna said bitterly.
“Indeed, and here is where you will obtain that extra height you need.” Sylvi said.
“With all due respect Sylvi I'd rather just wager in some duels. You know the legal way to gain height.” Anna said.
“Oh, and did you try that?” Sylvi asked.
“Well a few times, but no one would accept. I'm sure now that I'm taller and have more to offer someone will take me up.”
“Oh little one, no one who would lose will take your deal. Don't you see, you're being stopped. No one will duel you because you're being set up to fail.” Sylvi said, her words bearing a sad kindness.
Anna's face bore a mixture of shock and confusion. That couldn't be right, could it? Sylvi was her sponsor, so surely she could have set up a duel. Which was of course why she knew no one would duel her. But why? Anna knew she was strong, she had even begun to suspect she might have a real penchant for battle after her first few fights. Still, she aspired to be a chief, maybe high lord, anything more was just a dream.
“But I'm nobody, why would anyone want to stop me?” Anna asked aloud, more to herself than anyone else.
“I do apologize dear. That may be my fault.” Sylvi said.
“Your fault? No Sylvi, without your help I would never have had a chance. You funded my initiation, the preliminary, outfited me, and so much more.” Anna said, trying to reassure the larger woman.
“True, and those benefits come with drawbacks. I have enemies, and they would see my endeavors denied. They care not who you are, simply that you are associated with me.” Slyvi said as she grabbed a glass the size of Anna and downed its contents.
Anna was silent for a moment. The urge to punch something welling up inside her. It wasn't fair, how dare they deny her. Elven society was structured around the idea that obtaining size was an indication of worth. As such it was supposed to be fair dammit! If no one risked anything they didn't obtain anything. The only other way to advance was to forcibly take size, but for that to work there needed to be a war. Her tribe didn't have a chief, they couldn't make war. The only other means of wagering height and growing would be highly suspect, and likely bar her from chiefdom if anyone found out about it. Anna hadn't even noticed just how angry she had become until she heard a sound. A sharp -schrrt!- she looked around but only saw the smirking Sylvi.
“Careful, or you'll have patrons start throwing credit sticks at you.” Sylvi said. Anna looked puzzled as she felt her top loosen. She blushed, realizing she had been tensing so hard she shredded some of the seams of her clothing. In particular the crotch of her pants had come undone. Exposing short strands of vibrant blue hair. She turned slightly, putting herself facing Sylvi. The larger woman smiled softly.
“So, judging by the state if you're still rippling muscles. I take it you are as upset about these things as I? Willing to perhaps partake in the festivities?” Sylvi asked calmly.
“I mean, maybe. How does it work?” Anna asked.
“Simple, I enter you under my account. 40% of your earnings go to me. 10% to the house. You get 50% of the wager. For standard fights. For battle royals it's a bit different, same with mixed species fights.”
“I only get half?!” Anna exclaimed.
“Because I'm generous. A patron here can take up to 80% of the winnings. But if you lose it, and can't pay, it comes out of my hide. Literally.” Sylvi added giving her tits a light jiggle.
“Okay, I guess, but damn. I need to get to at least 17ft. That could take a while.”
“We have all night, and besides I have some pull here. Everyone of these esteemed ladies would love a chance to knock me down a cup size or three.” Sylvi said motioning to the three other high lords.
“I'll flatten you like a plank!” Shouted the one red haired high lord sitting opposite of Sylvi. One of the losers if the previous bought.
“You'll make a damn data tablet look curvy when I'm done with you!”
“Very eager, as you can see. Well Anna? Care to give it a try?” Sylvi asked.
“Okay sure, how do I-aahh!” Anna screamed in surprise as Sylvi put a hand under her ass and tossed her into the ring. Across from Anna the red haired elf smiled and pressed a button on her throne. A holo-screen popped up before each giantess. A moment later a holo-screen was projected in front of Anna.
Anna D v.s. Skadi
Wager: 6ft.
Contestant Prize: 3ft.
Accept: Y/N
Anna pressed Yes and noted the No option was grayed out. The screen vanished and across the arena a gate of solid iron slowly opened. Out stepped her competition, all 30 ft of her. Skadi was an elf who's appearance displayed the exemplary elven traits of making a tank feel inadequate. As she reached the middle of the arena she smiled, raising her fists and cracking her knuckles. Anna paled as Skadi's muscles tensed, they were as thick around as Anna was wide.
“Okay, tactics time, Hey Skadi! Any advice on how to kill an ogre?” Anna asked mockingly.
“Start breaking joints, their hides are so thick that getting to vitals is impossible. Same with the neck, too thick, don't waste time. If you can get to the high ground make use of gravity and the fact our bodies are much denser than normal. Drop kick the skull, try and pluck out eyes on the way down. Blind ogre fights as well as a dead cat.” Skadi replied earnestly.
Oh good she's actually killed ogres. Anna thought. “Um, thanks.”
“Don't mention it. You ready?” Skadi asked
Anna…
