Chapter #8

14 Years Old

I woke up the next morning feeling pretty well, all things considered. I gently got out of bed, so as not to disturb Claire, and went to the mirror, to see how old I was now. I was cautiously optimistic, since I could feel my breasts bouncing with each step.

The face and body in the mirror were those of a 14-year-old girl; since that was how old I was when I went to bed, that meant that I was done regressing at last. I breathed a sigh of relief: I wouldn't have chosen to be this young, but it was better than the alternative.

"Holly?"

I turned. Claire was awake, and worried about me. "Congratulations," I said, "it's a twin sister."

She sighed, relieved, and smiled. "It'll be nice to have another girl in the house. What do you want to do first?"

"Is it okay if I borrow some clothes?"

"Absolutely." She got out of bed, and walked me to her underwear drawer. "Once you're dressed, what do you want to do today?"

"I don't know. I've been working almost since I graduated from college; now, I'm too young for a job. Other than two weeks in the summer, and two in the winter, the longest I ever stayed off of work was when I was recovering from Steve's birth. I don't know what to do with myself now."

She hugged me. "You'll be alright, Holly. You're just not used to being a teen again. For us, it's summer vacation, time to have fun and relax."

Once we were both dressed, we went downstairs, where the man of the house was making breakfast. "Good morning, Daddy," I said, kissing him on the cheek. "It smells yummy."

He smiled. "You're in a good mood."

"I finally stopped getting younger. Now, Claire and I are twins."

"I'm happy for you. What do you want to do today?"

"I think I should take her shopping," Claire replied. "I don't mind sharing, but she can't keep borrowing my things indefinitely. And we've definitely got to get her to a salon: She needs a hairstyle that doesn't scream Mom."

I put a hand to my hair. "I guess getting younger doesn't make my hairdo up to date."
