Leave it to The Righteous

         Danny chooses to restrain himself. He doesn't give in to the last demand of his corrupted teacher. He tucks his pistol away back to where it was.

"No! It's over, I'm not gonna kill you! Go away and never come back!" Danny tells the broken man.

"You never had the guts for this line of work, boy. You'll get your time one day, I'm sure of that!" Rad says.

"Go now before I change my mind." Danny says assertively while placing his hand close to his holstered pistol.

         Rad groans and grinds his teeth. He gives Danny one last scowl, he knows that he can't persuade him anymore. The thrashed cowboy slowly stands up, struggling due to his injuries. He starts to limp away in the opposite direction. He rambles to himself on the way. Danny keeps his sight on his departure, to ensure Rad follows through.

"Guess that's that then." Danny comments once Rad is distant.

"You should have taken the shot." Jesse reproached.

"Calm down, Jesse. The man was already beaten down." Brandon protested.

"Yeah, sure. But what if he comes back?" Jesse replies.

"He won't. In the low chance he does, he's got another thing coming." Danny reassures Jesse.

"Whatever." Jesse said..

"Anyways, I think it's about time we go. For good this time." Danny states to the pair.

         They both agree. The group starts to take the old dirt road out of town. The sky remained clear but the sun was now fully setting behind the rocky hills. Danny looked behind one last time, there was no sign of anyone left. Rad was truly gone. Danny then shifts his attention to Jesse.

"Now that all this is over, what do you plan to do now Jesse?" Danny askes.

"Hell if I know. Probably just go back to the neighbor and lurk around I guess." Jesse answered lacking confidence.

"You know, there is always room for one more." Danny offers.

Jesse’s head turns a little to him with a somewhat surprised look on her face. "I don't know..."

"Come on, it beats being alone out there." Danny says, trying to convince her.

"Yeah! The more the merrier right?" Brandon says with encouragement.

         Jesse ponders for a moment on what choice to make. After a couple of seconds, she makes her decision. She looks down and gives a short smile for a brief moment.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt." Jesse answered.

"Welcome to the team then, Jesse." Danny endorsed.

         The gang now takes their leave back home. Their time in the deserted town had come to a close. Any souls that reside can go back to rest at long last. As for the wicked one, no one truly knows where he will go. Perhaps he’ll wander aimlessly for the rest of his days. One thing is for certain, he will never be seen again.
