The year she turned six, Asuki received a strange teddy bear for Christmas. It was about 18 inches tall, and it was brilliant purple with a gold star on its chest. She thought the new teddy bear was very pretty. "Oh, thank you mommy." little Asuki said as she hugged her new bear.
A few months later, in April, Asuki's ball got stuck on the roof of her house while she was playing. Her father had to fetch a ladder to bring it down. Asuki had always loved giant monsters, and right then she wished she was gigantic so she could have gotten the ball down by herself.
That night, before she went to sleep, Asuki looked at her teddy bear and said "I wish I was a big, strong kaiju girl. Then I'd be able to do anything, and nothing would ever be too tall for me.
