It was Kimmie's very first day at preschool. The two year old was dropped off by her mother, whom gave her a big kiss before lowering her to the ground and letting her crawl and toddle away.

The rooms walls were painted with a mural of clouds, with colourful rainbows and balloons. Toys and playthings were all around, most of them already used.

Kimmie quickly got to playing with the first child she saw. His name was Callum, and he was playing on a small, plastic slide in the corner of the room.

"I’m Kimmie! Want to bwe fwiends?" she asked. Callum nodded his head instantly, and the two of them took turns going down the slide, giggling and chuckling with eachother as they did.

"I want to show you swomething" said Callum, mischeviously, and Kimmie sat down in front of him to see what he was going to show her.

Callum gave her a shush before he held his pointer fingers out in front of him, and started babbling something. A strange glimmer of light suddenly appeared at the tip of his left finger. Callum flicked it, and it jumped over to his right finger, leaving a glittery trail of magic. "I can do mwagic!"

Kimmie clapped merrily at the strange light show. "Wow," she said. Callum grinned. "Ma parents said not to show anybwody, but I’m being sneekwy!"

Kimmie's eyes lit up. Her little mind was intrigued beyond all else about her new friend and his magic, and she immediately began wondering what kind of spells her friend could do. She had always, deep down, harboured a secret fascination with size; she wanted to be a giant, to play with real people like the dollies back home. Could her new friend's magic accomplish something like that?
