Chapter #7

The Job Market

    by: HeyItsThatBro Author IconMail Icon
Stan was mashed into an unrecognizable blob, Paris took to chewing with her mouth closed to avoid suspicion from any onlookers. He was beyond disoriented as entire hours had passed and he remained gum. After some time she got back home, slipped into her pjs.

Stan saw the light, all though his vision was kind of like a broken tv, as the mashing put both of his eyes in different directions. “You’re thuh best gum I evah had. Ya kept ya flava for thuh past 4 hours! Good thing, too, I was gonna swallow ya if ya did.” She said. She stuck me behind her ear and pressed me firmly.

Paris wasn’t interested in making things easy on Stan as she said on her side and forced the weight of her head down on his thoroughly abused body. He had some time to think while stuck, which he hated as his thoughts were plagued by his disintegrated life. His passion was gone, his job that he hd to claw his way to get was gone, his credibility was gone, any inkling of respect he had achieved was gone. The only question was, where to next.

Stan would need a job, the market for tinies ranged from pitiful to terrifying. He could lean on his relationships. He could get a job at his mom’s gym, but with her tiny hating business partner and her roommate status with Tessa, it was very dangerous.

Tia’s work was an option as well. The lady in question was a photographer for a fashion magazine, which personally he found ironic as she certainly had not just model potential but supermodel potential. Although, she is a little shy. He couldn’t get anything prestigious there, but he’d be around Tia and what organization doesn’t need secretaries and assistants to get coffee and make appointments.

Stan thought more about Tia and the pain of his life started to fade slightly. Thinking about it, during his job hunt he had more free time and could court her properly, maybe even start a relationship. If there was anybody who can keep him from falling into bitter despair it was her.

Stan was getting ahead of himself, however, he wasn’t free from Paris yet. A window of opportunity presented itself, when she rolled over on her other side. He spied the clock, it was midnight. He put all his spare energy to use, all the will he’d built up from his mom’s ‘REFORM’ training. He was shaking and twitching like crazy trying to detangle his body. This all was a blur for him, who knows how much time passed, he thanked God that she was a heavy sleeper, she hadn’t so much as groan as he shook like crazy.

Then, the miraculous happened. Stan freed himself falling on Paris’ pillow. He looked back at the clock, 5:45. That was rough, but it was time to go. He hopped to the floor and bolted for the door, the space below the door just big enough for him to crawl under.

This was it, he was scott free, but what about his future?

1). A future with Paris. She catches you before you leave and resumes crushing you.

2.). Let Allese give you a job. Although working at the Artemis Gym isn’t the safest option, your mom will make sure you’re looked after and paid well, right?

3). Writer’s Choice, pick another character’s place of work, or create a job for Stan, any job at all.
