Jenna watched in annoyance as her showboat of a brother once again hogged the spotlight. Figures she'd make three amazing new friends only for two of them to start fawning over you. It made her feel way too close to how she felt as a kid when everyone would ignore her for you. She'd need to think of something really creative to get you back for this.

"If you like your brother, you might want to warn him to stop flirting."

A smile tugged at the corner of Jenna's lips as Piper whispered into her ear. At least the tiny woman hadn't abandoned her. And she refused to believe it was because the tiny couldn't get down without her assistance. Jenna could take you stealing away the attention of her two other new friends, but not Piper's. That thought made Jenna feel sadder than she expected over someone she just met.

"And if I didn't like him?"

Jenna wasn't sure why she bothered whispering given how wrapped up everyone else was talking to you. Piper giggled at Jenna's response.

"You wanted to know how Dodger got her nickname right? She doesn't keep it secret. It's because in high school she was a bit of a klutz, and when she first transferred from the U.K. she kept tripping and falling on tinies. Right before she landed, she'd hear tinies screaming, "Dodge her! Dodge her!" Then... splat. But she thought it sounded like a bitchin' nickname, so she tweaked it and took it for herself."

Jenna bit back a laugh at that. "She was that clumsy?"

"She still is, honestly. It's just now she tries to play it off as intentional. Like she's trying to get ahead of the joke by playing along with it. I think it's because she always wants to be seen as cool, but I don't know why. She's already one of the coolest people on the planet!"

That was good information for Jenna to tuck away for later. She had a feeling she'd be spending a lot of time with these girls during the festival, which meant gathering as much intel on them as she could for future pranking purposes with you.

"What about Syd?" Jenna said, the hungry way the goth girl was eyeing her brother had not gone unnoticed. Well, except by Lauren.

Piper bit her lip as if debating whether to say anything, but wanting to impress Jenna, she decided to talk. As the tiny woman leaned in closer into her ear, Jenna was suddenly very self-conscious about whether or not she'd cleaned her ears properly and realized she'd be mortified if she grossed the tiny woman out.

"Look, I love Syd. I love Dodger too. I went to a tiny-only high school and didn't have any friends there because... well, it's not important. I was intimidated going to college, it was the first time I'd ever be interacting with regular-sized people on a regular basis. I don't think I would've survived freshman year in Weston without Dodger and Syd. Dodger saved me from some bully who'd stepped on me without realizing it. She told me she only knew because Syd had somehow noticed I'd been stepped on from across a crowded hallway! That was how we met. They're the first friends I've ever had. Hell, they're the best friends anyone could ever have! But... as romantic partners..."

"What?" Jenna asked, intrigued.

Piper swallowed. "You have to swear this to secrecy."

"I swear," Jenna said casually.

"No, I mean it, Jenna. You need to swear to keep this a secret. They're my best friends. I need to know I can trust you."

Jenna turned her head slightly so she could meet Piper's eye. The affected woman's face was set in a look of determination. She wouldn't say a word unless she was convinced Jenna would keep the secret. A lot of tinies seemed to back down from confrontation the moment a regular-sized person asked them for something. Jenna smiled gently, moved by the affected woman's bravery and show of loyalty to her friends.

"I swear, I will keep anything you tell me about Dodger and Syd a complete secret."

Piper nodded. "Okay," she said. "Dodger and Syd have been best friends since high school. However, they've always had trouble when the both of them set their sights on the same person romantically. If you're regular-sized, you may be able to handle it on your own. If you're tiny? Not so much. Syd in particular is the worst. She doesn't just get crushes, she gets obsessions. Every time she convinces herself she's finally found her true love. She's the type who'll pour her soul out into a diary and fill it with pages of flowery romantic poems. She's also extremely possessive. When she falls for someone, she gets jealous when they talk to other people, she clings to them all the time and if they ever leave, she bombards them with texts until they're back together. It's worse for tinies because she just tries to make them stay! When her first boyfriend didn't come home one night, it turned out she'd eaten him after he broke up with her in a warped attempt to force him to stay with her. She had to transfer schools after that."

"Yikes," Jenna said softly, eyes wide. "And... Dodger?"

"Dodger's not as obsessive as Syd, but she flirts with more people. It's fairly standard stuff for regular-sized people. For tinies though? Her flirting methods are more... extreme. She'll "tease" them by crushing them with her boobs or butt and stuff, and when tinies object she'll think they're just playing hard to get. She usually never takes it too far... except when her and Syd are crushing on the same person. Then her competitive nature gets the better of her. She absolutely refuses to lose. She just escalates her flirting and Syd does the same and both of them keep it up until they're forced to stop. The last tiny girl they pursued dropped out of Weston."

Jenna cursed under her breath. "Good thing they never set their sights on you."

"Trust me, it was the only time I was ever happy when two people told me they saw me as a little sister... even though we're the same age."

Jenna watched Dodger and Syd and as she did she realized both women had been getting steadily closer to you, as if each were getting ready to pounce before the other could. You, for your part, were blushing furiously, sweating profusely and responding to all of their questions by stammering.

"They'd make a great couple though!" Piper said, surprising Jenna. "Shame they're too focused on other people to see what's right in front of them."

Jenna snickered. "Who knows? Maybe their next fight over someone will end in a threesome?"

As you'd been stammering out the latest answer to Dodger's question, her and Sydney's faces filling your field of vision, a high-pitched cackle tore through the night air, ripping the two giantess's attention away from you. You let out a sigh of relief before turning to see the pink-haired woman on your sister's shoulder, holding her gut and cackling with glee. Jenna's cheeks were flushed and she was laughing, albeit more inhibited, since she was under the gaze of her classmates, mother and brother.

"Sorry," Jenna said, smiling awkwardly. "Didn't mean to interrupt your intimate conversation. You three keep at it."

For some reason this just made Piper laugh even harder. Dodger looked like she was about to question them, but before she could Syd leaned back down to face you, her seemingly emotionless face now even closer to you than before. "Tell me your favorite poet, Matthew."

"Who cares about poetry?" Dodger scoffed, trying to get closer than Syd, as if mad she missed a point in some imaginary game. "Who's your favorite musician?"

"Music is poetry, Dodger," Syd said with a hint of impatience.

"Don't start on that again. You don't know what you're talking about. Come on, Matty, back me up!"

You gulped.

It was going to be a long night.

*****

After three more hours, your new friends decided to pack it up for the night and return to the RV they borrowed from Syd's parents. Since it was a long walk down the trail to reach the parking lot, Piper insisted the three of them leave now so they could get to the concert early tomorrow. You were relieved to hear it. You liked Dodger and Syd well enough, they seemed like incredibly friendly people, you just wished they'd respect your personal space more. They hadn't really given you a chance to get a word in edgewise despite bombarding you with questions. Maybe you could ask Piper to bring it up with them on your behalf for next time. You had barely said two words to the affected woman before it was time to say goodbye. She and Jenna had been chatting intently for the past two hours.

"Make sure to keep an eye on Matty," Dodger said as she approached Jenna to take Piper back. "There's this one security woman who's been a real prick about people sneaking in tinies. She's a beast. The ones she doesn't kick out, she "confiscates." I have no idea what she does with them after that. If she catches him without a pass... just, don't let that happen."

"Thanks for the warning, Dodger," Jenna said. "I certainly wouldn't want anything happening to Matt. You know," she said suddenly, "this has been so much fun, I don't want it to end. How about Matt and I sleep over with you three? So we can get to know each other better."

"What?!" you squeaked.

"I think it's a great idea!" Piper said loudly.

"Me too," Sydney said, her gray eyes having never left your body.

"What--I mean, yeah, of course!" Dodger said, both surprised by how fast this was happening and upset that Syd had seemed to have scored another imaginary point by agreeing first.

"You kids have fun," Lauren said, yawning. She'd fallen asleep a few times during the conversation and now stretched as she got up. "I'm going to go to bed. I'll see you all at the concert!"

"So it's decided then," Jenna said, smiling. "Come on Matt, I'll give you a lift."

What happens next?

1) Jenna grabs you and carries you to the RV. Looks like you'll be getting to know Piper's bandmates more.

2) You manage to argue staying with Lauren, but in revenge, Jenna pranks you before she leaves, ensuring you won't get a good sleep.

You have the following choices:

1. Taken to a sleepover with Jenna's new friends.

*Noteb*
2. Pranked and left behind with Lauren.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
