Chapter #6

Orange you glad?

    by: Hole Author IconMail Icon
Your hand fell onto the orange crystal, which warmed up your whole arm the longer you held onto it. It was quite comfortable, and never seemed to boil over into scalding.

"Huh. Neat," you say.

You lift your hand off and stand back. Except your arm didn't come with you. Your hand stayed onto the crystal, its arm dangling from it until it fell limply onto the floor.

You stare at your severed appendage for several seconds, then look back at your now empty right shoulder, from whence it came. Then back at your right arm on the ground. For what felt like minutes, but was really seconds. Then you scream your heart out.

You fall onto your exposed rear, eyes focused on your severed limb, which was now seemed to tense up. It was moving now, which didn't help with your panic.

Regardless, some part of your mind told you to look into it further. So, you got up and crawled over to your limb. There was no blood or gore to be seen, only smooth skin at the separation point. The same was said for your new stump on your right shoulder.

"M... Maybe I can... put it back," you say, a large part of you not believing it. Still, you grab your arm with your remaining hand, cringing at how your severed arm reacted by bending its elbow and clenching its hand, grabbing at the air. "Okay.... Just..." you held your breath and pushed into the empty sleeve of your t-shirt. Then, to your surprise and relief, it sticks on. You open and close your fist a few times before finally letting out the breath you've been holding.

You rub your arm, grateful for it to be reunited with you, but in doing so you accidentally pop it off again.

"AH!" you scream and hastily push it back on.

It seems whatever the crystal did, it made your arm detachable from your body, and when detached it gains a mind of its own out of your control. You shudder at the thought of whatever else the crystals it this cave could do to you. Speaking of which, in all the commotion, you didn't happen to place another part of your body on another crystal, did you?

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Yes, a green crystal

*Noteb*
2. Yes, a blue crystal

*Noteb*
3. Yes, a pink crystal

*Noteb*
4. Yes, another orange crystal

*Noteb*
5. Nope, you're good

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
