Mermaid Mayhem

Somewhere near the beach, there were rumors of mermaid sightings. However, actual view of them remains a mystery for those that tried looking for them were never really the same. For the context of this story, the mermaids here swap their heads with an unfortunate victim for the opportunity to live on the surface. Regardless of gender, they use their magic to remove their victim's head before taking their own and swapping them. The mermaid then goes out to their new lives while the victim is forced to remain in the sea as their tail will prevent them from going home or live normal lives again.
