She thought about that day; two years ago already this day. There was a big block party in the park and everyone was there. Except for Fiona though. She took her chance. There was one tree in the park that was pretty close to the top of the wall. Seeing a chance for getting out Fiona tried to climb the tree. It didn't work out for her that day though. The branch reaching the top of the wall was just too frail to hold her weight so she fell down into the nearby bushes. And that's when it happened. Dave was walking towards the tree. Not wanting to get caught, she tried to hide herself well in the bushes.
Dave looked pleased with himself, which was unusual for him unless his hand was on his next girlfriend. But when he looked at the branch Fiona just used he looked angry. "What the fuck?" He said which was unusual for Dave to say. Dave looked around himself and that's when Dave began shaking like crazy. She wanted to get up to help Dave but that's when an older guy just stepped outside of Dave, probably in his twenties. Fiona didn't know where to look as her eyes were glued to the guy's appendage. But the guy then quickly climbed up in the tree and began to climb even further up. The guy looked down to judge the distance, but that's when he saw her. They both looked at each other; they both knew he could probably leap inside her from this distance before she could move, but there was an understanding between the two of them, she knew it. The guy just gave her a little wink and then jumped down on the wall just barely. He then jumped down behind the wall and he was gone.
Fiona then walked towards her brother who was still dazed. Helping him stand up they returned to the block party. Apparently Dave didn't remember anything about what happened to him. The last thing he remembered was getting ready for the party, but after that nothing. As for what he was after; a few weeks after the party a few houses were robbed; interesting was that the houses were the ones his previous girlfriends lived at. Fiona was hesitant to point out the connection; it felt like she was implicating Dave that way.
But Fiona could never forget what she saw that day; the young guy and his incredible power. Like he could just hop anyone he wanted, could become anyone he wanted. That's what Fiona wanted as well. And now the power that that man had, was hers. She read through the instructions intensely until she had it memorized. But now she had to try it out on someone, but who? Perhaps someone from her family. Or someone from the community. Or somebody else?
