Stu and Bonnie hops are...experienced parents, to say the least. When you have more than twenty kids you kinda have to learn quick in order to keep tragedy from striking. So when they decided to adopt a human, they felt it was likely an OK idea to adopt Jimmy.
Jimmy, for his part, had already developed a bit of a reputation in the system as a habitual runaway, and the Hopps were advised on that point. Despite knowing that, with there not insignificant experience and the fact that they had some older children at home who could keep an eye on Jimmy even when they were not, they felt they could handle 1 human.
After all, in Bunny Burrow how far could he get even if Jimmy did manage to run away.
So we join the hops family about 3 weeks after this adoption, Bonnie and Stu have just returned from dropping their eldest, Judy, off at the train station after visiting for the weekend and are gathering their kids to serve lunch, doing a head-count as always... When Bonnie stops.
"...We're missing one"
"What? Hun theres no wa-"
"Jimmy! Where's Jimmy!" Bonnie's eyes are wide as she looks over the far smaller children...and suddenly the entirety of the group are searching throughout the house for the human...
