"I don't recall this shop being here before," Emma said as she walked down the mall, stopping in front of Clyde's.
"Don't all the pop up shops usually go here?" Owen said as he went to continue walking but stopped when Emma didn't move.
"Yeah but, I walked by here yesterday and it was still a book store..." Emma tried to make sense of it but her thoughts were cloudy. She turned to face Owen who didn't seem to be as puzzled and went to continue walking when she hesitated and walked inside without thinking.
"Where are you going Emma? We don't have time..." Owen complained as he followed her inside.
"I just want to check it out," Emma stated as she already began looking at random items.
"Okay, five minutes," Owen's doubts disappeared as he entered the store. He went down a different isle to Emma, eyeing all the junk before spotting something. It felt like it was calling to him and when he approached he didn't know why it even called his eye, it was just a cheap plastic wand that was just a thin black cylinder with a white cap at the end.
"Hey, Emma check it out." Owen called as he picked up the mundane item. "Abracadabra," he aimed it at her as she entered the isle and flicked it towards her. He didn't think anything would happen but was left speechless when something did, though not as speechless as Emma.
'How childish' Emma said or at least that's why she tried to say but all she could hear was some muffles as if her mouth had been tapped shut, it felt just as tight too. She looked at Owen's bewildered expression and wondered what was going on as she reached up to touch her face, only to discover she didn't have a mouth. She went to scream but once again all she managed to make was a muffled cry.
Owen snapped out of his bewilderment and approached Emma to comfort her when he noticed something on the ground. He paused for a moment as he spotted familiar looking lips, painted in the same shade of lipstick that Emma had been wearing. He reached down and picked them up, confirming they were flesh.
Emma saw what Owen had in his hands and quickly took them off him, on one side there was a layer of skin and the other was her lips. She then opened them up and saw the inside of her mouth. She reached in with a finger, which almost looked like it had disappeared on the other side and began to touch the inside of her mouth, though she didn't fell it except for the wet finger. She then tried to put it back where it should be but it wouldn't stay on.
"Hold it there, let me try something," Owen suggested and when Emma was in position he aimed the wand at her face. "Abracadabra," he said once more, causing Emma's mouth to reattached.
"What the hell was that!" Emma said freaking out. "Put that thing back right now, we're leaving."
Owen nodded and placed the wand on the shelf but as the walked down the isle, to leave both of them felt something strike them. Emma's hair fell off her head as if it were a wig and Owen's left arm dropped from the shoulder.
"What the hell!" Emma screamed as she touched her bald head as she reached down and grabbed her hair off the floor.
"You upset it by putting it back," Clyde said as he entered the isle. "They tend to lash out when you do that." He gave them a smirk. "I'd recommend buying it if you want to leave the store in one piece."
Emma and Owen looked at each other, then at Clyde and finally back at the wand. Without another word, Emma picked it up and went to the counter to purchase the thing. $250 later she and Owen were walking out the store with it, now fully intact.
