Mike saw how the ball of light passed right next to him; a warm sensation that occurred only for a second before the ball of light sped off in the direction of Mr.s Cropowski. Mrs. Cropowski was the librarian for almost fifteen years. She was a stern woman, especially with those black glasses she wore. Her hair was always tightly in a bun, her clothes not showing anything that could be considered revealing. Perhaps it was the job that did it. Telling kids to put their books back in the shelves a hundred times a day might do that a person.
That was all going through Mike's head as he saw the ball of light heading to Mrs. Cropowski, as he stood up the ball of light hit Mrs. Cropowski. Mike saw her eyes rolling around as she fell on the ground, her body spasms like it wanted something to get out. Mike wasn't sure what to do, he didn't know any first aid. Just as he was about to leave the library to search for help Mrs. Cropowski felt silent her hands lying next to her as she was slowly breathing. Mike reached out for her glasses that were flown off her nose and put them back on again.
Mrs. Cropowski then seemingly woke up. Her eyes fluttered as she seemed to take everything in. "Mrs. Cropowski, are you alright?" Mike asked the librarian concerned. Mrs. Cropowski didn't say anything as she just raised her hand and gently rested it on Mike's cheek. "Mike." She just mumbled looking content before passing out again. Mike then grabbed his cellphone and called 911.
Everything that happened then felt like some sort of rollercoaster. Mrs. Cropowski not seeming to be able to wake up, the people of the ambulance rushing in and taking care of her, the headmaster praising Mike's quickness of thinking and Mike walking back home again. On his bed he was thinking back to the moment Mrs. Cropowski touched his cheek, the expression she had that moment. It was just like Katie. Mike sank his face down into his pillow. What a fool he was thinking that. Katie was never going to come back again.
