I am a wandering spirit, lost and alone...

As the words escaped her lips, the girl looked away, brushing a lock of hair out of her face, a slight blush on her pale skin.

I have wandered this empty void for so long... And then you appeared... Perhaps... I am needed...?

"Huh?" Melona said, still trying to process what was happening. Typically spirits were far less... coherent. They were jumbles of scattered emotions and faint impressions of those who once lived, wisps of vaguely humanoid smoke drifting lazily along an overgrown footpath, or strange voices whispering collages of broken syllables in the dark corners of long forgotten homes. But the girl standing before her was clear and distinct, fully opaque and capable of communication.

Oh, I guess not entirely opaque... Melona realized as she looked over the figure before her. She was very nearly solid, but the furthest tips of her hair faded from solid white to almost complete translucence, meanwhile the edges of her body would occasionally flicker and blur, as though your eyes were trying to adjust to them. As she moved, the mist around her dragged behind like a smokey shawl, and though her face was pretty, there was a strange glassiness to her eyes. The girl turned towards Melona, reaching out a hand as if to touch her face, and for a moment Melona didn't react, surprised to see that the tips of her fingers also melted into transparency. Only when she felt a slight chill radiating from the girls hand did Melona finally come to her senses, instinctively stepping back. The girl stopped, her expression somehow even sadder than before.

Or not... The ghost sighed, Well, I suppose I was lucky simply to see another person after all of this time...

Melona frowned, a pang of guilt in her chest. The woman in front of her was strange and uncanny, but she wasn't doing anything wrong. Melona couldn't just leave her like this.

"Um, a-actually, I do need you!" Melona stammered, trying to maintain her cool. The Ghost's face lit up, and for a moment her eyes sparkled with life and warmth. "You see, uh... I need help..."
