It's been another hundred years since the original mutant animals had awakened from their century-long slumber. Since then, they, along with their descendants, while following ATHENA and Dr. Straude's instructions, were making good progress in their quest to rebuild civilization.
The mutant animals have managed to spread across much of the the North American continent, building various cities and towns. Technology wise, they had managed to get to the same level humanity was at before it went extinct, with a number of advancements here and there.
The mutants usually bartered for goods and services. In regards to food, herbivores would still eat plants and vegetables, while the carnivores would feed on the non-sentient animals that were left behind after the fall of mankind. Socially, discrimination or hatred towards different species is practically nonexistent. Not even towards interspecies couples, though these are rather rare.
The laboratory acted as an underground "capital city". Scientists in the lab often worked to help advance society even more. There was also a place where the leading mutant animals, often referred to as the Alphas, discussed future plans for their society, often turning to ATHENA for advice.
A great event known as the Phoenix Festival is approaching, marking the day the original Alphas woke from their 100 year long slumber, and began rebuilding society. However, this one would be more memorable, since there were a number of mutants that were planning to cross the ocean and explore new lands.
