Kerrizax, a dragon who already dwarfed his human apprentice, and was now at an absolutely deific scale compared to Clem. Would it even be possible to get his attention at such a small size?

Flint-spark, same as above, save that Clem is immediately discovered by his fellow apprentice and rival, a talented kobold with an affinity for fire spells.
