Riko had been practicing hard for her piano recital coming up. It had taken a lot to admit to her love interest Chika that she wanted to put her school idol activities on hold for a while. But Chika was incredibly supportive of her decision, as always.
There had always been a rift between the two of them since Chika founded Aqours. Their meeting was magical, and Riko wanted to help Chika, but personal matters made it difficult to do. And yet, she couldn't help herself from still developing feelings for the mikan-loving girl. Riko liked the other members well enough, they were still friends and on good terms, but deep inside Riko's heart lurked a nasty level of jealousy. A possessiveness for her Chika. She was spending far too much time with the other girls like You, and not enough on her.
Downtrodden over her empty position in Aqours and the stress of her piano recital coming up, Riko needed someone like Chika close by and supporting her through this. Understandably the leader of Aqours had her own problems and worries to think about, but Riko's need for companionship overpowered her other more logical thought processes.
It was a warm late night when Riko decided to open her bedroom window and let in some air. She stared across at Chika's adjacent bedroom window. Her view obstructed by curtains, Riko wondered if her friend was sleeping in there, or awake and studying, or if she was even home.
The redhead let out a sigh and wistfully looked at the elixir on her desk sparkling from the moonlight. It was a random pickup she saw a shop on the boardwalk the other day. The label attached to the cork said it "will make you invaluable to any woman!" Riko let out a pained laugh. It didn't have to be Chika per say, thought that would make her the happiest. She would feel better if any girl from Aqours needed her, Riko bargained.
"I can't believe I was so desperate I bought into some stupid scam..." she whispered quietly to her dark room. Glancing at the glittering bottle again, she got up from the windowsill and walked over to her desk.
"Guess... it might not hurt to try..." Riko thought. She brought the elixir's bottle close to her nose, removed the cork, and gave it a sniff. It didn't seem dangerous at least, there wasn't any kind of chemical smell. It oddly enough had a fruity scent to it.
Closing her eyes, Riko slowly brought the bottle to her lips and gave it the smallest of sips...
...Before passing out immediately onto her bedroom floor.

Riko awoke what felt like hours later. But something wasn't quite right...
