The Prince decided that it was time to consult his trusted mage, Rixa. Despite her young age, she was the most skilled magic-user in the kingdom proper, with the Luna Witch being the only one known to surpass her. Prior to becoming one of the Spectrum Knights, she had been assisting in the castle's library, occasionally taking books with her to her quarters to read alone, and particularly enjoyed studying magic. She didn't have any aspirations to become a mage herself, but when a lower-level witch had made her way into the castle and attempted to kidnap the prince, Rixa was suddenly called by the enchanted staff, Starshine, which empowered her and gave her the courage and energy to vanquish the would-be kidnapper. Despite now being a trusted royal knight and one of the Prince's personal guards, not much had changed. The girl still spent her free time researching magic, though she would now send messengers to acquire books from other kingdoms to study.
Prince Jack made his way to the castle's library, where he was certain to find her. Sure enough, sitting with towers of books surrounding her, was the Knight of Stars, Rixa. "*ahem* L-Lady Rixa-"
"AH!" The young girl jumped up at the sudden intrusion and looked up. "Oh, it's you, your highness", she said in embarrassment, "M-my apologies." She brushed herself off before standing up straight. "I wasn't expecting anyone to come by."
"Apologies, Lady Rixa", said the Prince. "I was perhaps hoping you could assist me."
"Hmm? How so?", asked Rixa, the girl grabbing her staff as she walked over to the Prince, completely unaware that a breeze had flipped the pages of her book…
Suddenly, her face began to light up. "Are… are you finally asking me to cure you?"
Rixa had been wanting to use her own magic to help cure Prince Jack's condition for some time now, though she was often far too enthusiastic about it, and the one time she has been allowed ended… rather poorly. It had taken two whole days to gather the Prince up, and he was still certain that there were bits of him stuck in the crevasses.
"Um… if you think your research is far enough…" Prince Jack wasn't really sure about asking her for assistance, but he could see that it bothered her that he didn't consider her as a solution for his condition. At the very least, this would help boost Rixa's confidence. After all, how much worse could the Prince's condition get?
"Oh yes!", the young mage cheered. "In fact, it's a good thing you came when you did! I just found a tome that could be the answer to your plight, my Prince!" Rixa grabbed her book and hopped over the table before raising her Starlight Rod. "Just wait right there!"
"W-wait! Shouldn't we be outside for this!", Prince Jack stammered.
"You no longer desire to squish? Well now, my Prince, let's grant your wish!"
A blueish purple aura quickly surrounded the Prince, forcing him still as Rixa continued her incantation.
"Since you dislike your current state, it's time to pick up other traits!"
With that, Rixa had completed the spell, and a blue flash of light filled the room. The young mage grinned with pride until she looked back down at her book. "Uh oh!" She suddenly began to flip through the pages and began to laugh uneasily. "Uh, ha… haha
… M-my apologies, your Highness… I, er… seem to have read the wrong spell… Um, my Prince?"
What has happened to Prince Jack?
