Initial contact with the diminutive inhabitants of New Visby was made by a tablet mounted on a solar powered rover, like the one used on Mars.
Initially, the natives of New Visby came nowhere near your mobile tablet. Eventually, though, their curiosity got the better of them, and thus communications with them was established.
Three months later, and the roaming tablet has become old hat to the natives of New Visby. The tablet even gets shooed away from time to time, when its presence was disrupting something. The language of the New Visby natives has been catalogued and mapped out, and you’ve become quite fluent in it. Likewise, some of the tiny natives of New Visby have become very fluent in English.
By this time, the tiny natives know that the people communicating with them are giants. So the subject of a personal visit by the giants has been broached.
The natives of New Visby have agreed to a single human visitor to their island.
You.
Since you are the most junior of the team that has been studying and communicating with the tiny natives, there has been a lot of push back on you being the one who gets to personally study Homo Visby for the first time. But the natives of New Visby have made it quite clear. It’s either you or nobody.
The fact that, at six and a half feet tall, you’re the tallest of the humans interacting with them, doesn’t put off the tiny natives in the least. They do appreciate the fact that you’re fluent in their language. And, quite frankly, they’re fascinated by your fair coloring.
When you get to New Visby, who is first to greet you?
