It's a bit eerie, sitting on the porch of your cabin with all the lights off in the middle of the night. The moonless sky is full of stars, and the sight of the Milky Way stretching across the sky is breathtaking.

But that isn't the only sight you're waiting to see. There is a geomagnetic storm of unusual strength about to strike the Earth. So for the first time in decades, the aurora borealis will be visible as far south as the Ozarks.

As you look northward, you see a shimmer of lights begin to form on the horizon.

As you get lost in the splendor of the night sky, are there any more wonders in store for you besides the southern Northern Lights?
