The Gemini Empire is an interstellar empire home to the gemin race. They're a humanoid alien species from planet Tawaman, although they inhabit a total of 152 planets, making them one of the strongest players on the galactic stage.
The gemin people are divided into two sexes and their culture is heavily based around this. Males are quite similar humans aside from different skin and hair colors. Females are the same except they're roughly 20 cm taller on average and also are born with two heads with differing personalities and control different halves of the body. The reason for this is that female gemin chromosomes also have a gene that makes cells develop twice as fast during pregnancy, as a result the body is both bigger and two brains and heads are developed instead of one.
Gemini society forces the sexes into two castes. The males are relegated into nearly every labor role, whether it be farming, manufacturing, services, etc. Females are relagated to serve in more privileged positions, like the clergy, the government, and the military. The only exception is jobs that require higher education, such as medicine and science. Despite this, the sexes are considered equal, just that their roles are very separate.
The empire is an absolute monarchy ruled by the Triple Empresses, who, unlike the rest of the species, are three conjoined gemini sharing a body. They are taller than any other gemin and have three breasts instead of two. This mutation is common among the royal family and it is seen as a mark of divine legitimacy for their rule.
