Carmelita was in Bentley's home.
"I'm close to finding him," the turtle said, as he worked on the time machine. "I just wish that Penelope hadn't done what she did. We would have been able to do this easily."
"I know," said Carmelita. She looked at a picture of the turtle and the mouse. They'd looked like a cute couple. There was a Plus and a Minus over the mouse's eyes, and cattle horns, in marker.
She then noticed a mirror. "Say, what's this?"
"Hmm, oh, it's a different sort of teleporter," said Bentley. "Parallel Dimensions. We didn't get it to work quite right though. It would flicker for a bit, might get an image of someone on the other side, but it didn't work for more than a second at a time though."
"Interesting," Carmelita said, as she walked over to it. It flashed, and she saw Sly. Instinctively, she tried to reach for him.
"No, it's not-"
Bentley's voice cut off, as she was pulled through the mirror.
"Oh No!" the turtle said, as he wheeled over. The mirror was blank. "Not her too! Got to get both back!"
Light flashed around the fox, as she realized what she'd done. She'd touched the mirror, trying to touch another Sly.
That particular Sly looked at her in shock, as he looked at her.
"Carmelita? Did you just step through that mirror that Bentley made?"
She looked back behind her. A mirror, just like she'd touched, but it was blank. She sighed. "Well, that was a dumb move."
"Maybe," said the alternative Sly.
"Okay, let's get things straightened-out, and just talk about things before anyone starts any foolishness," Carmelita said. "Where I'm from, I'm an inspector for a law enforcement organization called Interpol, and you're a thief I've tried to capture for a long time, although recently we've been working together, and you vanished into a time portal while battling a criminal known as Paradox. That being said, if your Bentley is anything like mine, or your counterpart of Penelope is still good, maybe we can send me back home."
At this, the other Sly reveals......
