Rouge the Bat stood on a rooftop in the middle of the night after her latest successful heist. She held the Chaos Emerald that she had stolen up to the moonlight to watch it gleam, a beautiful flawless gem.
Then a spark of green energy unexpectedly shot off from the gem into her fingers and up her arm. It wasn't particularly painful but the sensation was surprising and nearly caused Rouge to drop her prize.
She held the emerald more gingerly wondering what could have caused the surge of energy before...
